Mexico
Mexico’s Hass avocado production has long been concentrated in the State of Michoacán, but a recent increase in exports from the neighboring State of Jalisco has broadened the country’s supply capabilities. Rich, volcanic soil over a wide range of elevations allows for nearly continuous avocado production, and Hass shipments into the U.S. are allowed year-round into all states.

Peru
Avocados have been grown in Peru since pre-Colombian times and remain an important part of the national diet. Peru’s mild coastal climate is ideal for Hass avocados, which are grown in a combination of natural river valleys and modern irrigation districts all across the country. The Peruvian Hass season begins in May and extends into September, with peak availability June through August.

Colombia
Colombia has many agronomic benefits for avocado production, including rain-watered cultivation, a wide trading window, and several climate stages. Colombian avocados are often grown in rough topography, at high altitudes, and on relatively small plantations. Production is available at various levels year-round, thanks to two blooms. The main bloom, the ‘Travesia,’ represents 60 – 80% of total volume and peaks October to January.
